Will I get a duplicate content penalty for embedded video?

If one updates the content of a page with a video from You Tube that someone else has uploaded, would the page be penalized by Google because of duplicate content?

 Search engines havent got quite to the point of scanning videos the same way they scan written content but good to be conscious of these things.

Embedded videos can be a great way to increase the 'stickiness' of your pages which can be good for SEO - just make sure you give visitors a good reason to stay and watch the video.

 No problem. You'll find this forum is pretty good at making sure everyones posts get replied to!

Just one other point with regard to embedded videos is to make sure you include a description of what the video is about for SEO reasons, similar to how you use alt text for images - you need to tell the engines what the video/images are about because they cant view them.

 Great tips Mark. I have started using video on my blogs. it is a great way to created good content fast. I can record a video in 3-5 minutes with as much content or more as an article that takes an hour to write.
