ezinearticles is about syndication, and that means that your articles would really be republished word for word, with your links and biobox intact. The value of those republished articles are more on direct traffic from the sites where they were republished rather than in search engine rankings.

really the purpose of article directories is to get people to republish your content. you wont find that happening much with the poorly written articles most people syndicate, but it can if you write high quality content. Most of the content I use for syndication is as good as or better than the content on my site, so it tends to get republished, and gives me a lot of good traffic. You also have to realize the people who republish content from directories aren't just using them on their own sites. I have seen a few of my articles being republished as newsletters and in ebooks as well.

I actually did that for one of my lists. I have a year and a half long autoresponder serries that all the articles came from article directories and PLR content. All I did was set up the squeeze page and syndicate my own articles to build links to the opt in, and used a variety of content that I was able to pick up (most of it for free) to provide a lot of value to my readers. The publishers are happy because they are getting traffic. my readers like the content because I meticulously read everything and only republish high quality stuff, and I am happy because I am seeing sales.
