Off page SEO is way more stressful than on page. Just imagine trying to build links for your site. But then again, everything about SEO is difficult

Both You can not compare, Both have own importance. If you are doing in right way, Basically Off-pages seo is more complicated nowadays.

My perspective both techniques are challenged because without one technique you cannot improve ranking of your website on SERP.

Both are challenging techniques because Google will keep on updating, we can't expect which factor it will take to rank the websites. So it is important to focus on both on and off page techniques.

To determine what is more challenging you need to realize full potential of your website, and you can do it precisely only by on page. But of page is more vital and logically that in some cases it can be more challenging. But definitely you need to know both really well.

Both are challenging from their end. Though I will be learning more about on-page SEO in the future right now focusing on off-page. It is a time-taking technique but result-oriented.
