I read somewhere today that it can improve your SEO if you have other key phrases that relate to your Keywords in your content, you will rank higher. can anyone confirm this? it was advised in the article that labs.google.com/sets was used to hunt out related phrases.

Rather than just having key phrases that relate to your keywords, the content on your webpage should also be highly relevant to your keywords. Your page should be one that offers useful information and/or real help in relation to the keyword that you have chosen.

Content is king but google will also look for LSI based kw's as related to you main kw. If you enter your fw in the google keyword tool it will bring back the relevant kw's based on LSI.
