This usually depends on your target leads. If you think you need more people to sign-up to your event, you may allow more days for your affiliate campaign. This can be months before the event. If you only have limited seat to fill in, then perhaps, you can limit the days of promotion to a few weeks. However, IMO, I suggest you start campaigning months before the event or as soon as you have all the details ready.

Depend on your service trend, in how much time it gives you result? And yes it depends on your seats if they limited then before a month you can start but if it is unlimited then start when you have complete sources.
