Google prefers quality backlinks, particularly backlinks that result from intentional queries.

Also, you have to remember that linked keywords do not matter much if they are not valuable to the searcher. You need to search and group your keywords based on "intent" as well. You may check out how to find keywords with intent in this post here.

You also need to plan your content (content that you publish to your website and to other sites) and be able to post articles that answer all the searcher's questions and at the same time be able to go beyond that. In short, you need to produce quality articles that make each visit worthwhile for the searcher in a sense that they do not need to go to Google or to any similar websites to find what they are looking for.

All these help make your link valuable to Google. These are the kinds of links that you should build to your website.

I would say that any SEO method that is opposed to Black Hat methods can pave the way for strong back linking. Links from high quality videos and social websites also are valuable when it comes to link building.

Google likes backlinks from well-established sites that have a high level of editorial policy. More so Google likes sites that have citations from excellent sources to support the strength of that website. For an instant, if there are citations in the news about this site on CNN or the New York Times, that can lend a lot of credibility to the site. On the other hand, if there really are no strong citations it can be difficult to get to the next level.

Dear Tampata,

As such Google has not declared anything about quality links. But Always try to make back links from your niche related websites. And do engagement on those links such as commenting, sharing etc.

And do not forget about indexing. If you creating from a single back-link from any place make assure that back-link should got index otherwise that time and effort is useless for you.

I hope this information will be useful for you.

Google likes earned links, thats the backbone of the whole pagerank system.

Of course, that is easier said than done. Learn about metrics such as Moz's DA and PA and Trustrank.

If a site scores highly on these than the backlink is valuable.

Also make sure the content of the site the backlink is coming from is similar to the site you own.

From my experience, google likes backlinks from relative sites to your yours. So if you owned a wedding planning site, google would like to see websites like wedding venues, or wedding photographers sites liking to yours.

Another advice: each period of time (individually), check out your backlinks, usually they become invalid "broken links". So if you pay for the backlinks and they don't work properly, you loose money

Below is a list of all the different types of backlinks Google wants you to avoid:

No Paid Links. Buying and selling links is seen as unnatural because there are other motives aside from user experience for one or both of the websites involved. If you paid for it and it passes PageRank, it counts. Sending someone a product for free in exchange for an article and link about the product falls into this category.
No Unnatural Link Exchanges. The word “unnatural” is key. It’s okay to link to other websites and have those other websites link to you, but it must be natural. In other words, those links need to add value to an article or page for a user. If you’re a law firm, don’t try to exchange links with a dentist.
No Automated Links. This one is obvious. Don’t try to use an automated program to build links. These pop up as huge red flags to Google and you’re sure to get penalized.
No Advertorials. You do not want to have an ad out there that has a link within it that passes PageRank. Feel free to use a rel=nofollow attribute if you want to include a link. You wont’ get the SEO benefit, but consumers can still engage with the link.
No Optimized Anchor Text. Optimized anchor text is hard to see in most cases, but it can be made obvious if you do it all the time. If your content is full of links, all appearing to be keywords, you could get penalized. Consider learning about SEO cocitation to help this problem.
No Footer Links. This mostly deals with keyword rich links. If they’re in your footer as opposed to your content, it still counts as “bad” in the rulebook of Google.
Spammy Comment Links. If you are commenting on a blog post that has several hundred other comments written by people who have products/services for names, then that is a big red flag.

I can mention for sure that if the site where the backlink will be, is not "black" but authorized, blog or journal, it will be very effective

You can't go wrong with social media and social bookmarking. Things like web 2.0 websites and youtube work well too.

Google gives priority to high quality and do-follow backlinks. Google prefer those backlinks which get from high PR sites.
