The girls are correct but don't mistake a photo sharing site as a place where you can use anyone's pictures on your site because you will still need there permission in order to use there pictures. Often you can use them for free and others will charge a fee.

Good point Mark! That's right. Photo sharing sites and apps are where we all could share photos and images, but they are not to be mistaken as a place to get images to be used on your site.
If you need images for your site you need to look at iStockPhoto or StockExchange where you could get some free images you can use on your site.

Mark has a point. With online media now being used more often for communication, it is best to be cautious of the things you post and share online. If you do not own these digital files, then better ask the permission of the owner first or try to find royalty-free images or perhaps buy these images/photos from the owners.

Hello all.
There is also a site called http://pinterest.com which is kind of a social networking site that focuses on image sharing rather than text like twiter.
Also don't forget that you can use images in your sites and articles and then post the link to http://stumbleupon.com and if people like it, it can draw some good traffic.

This function is provided through both websites and applications that facilitate the upload and display of images. The term can also be loosely applied to the use of online photo galleries that are set up and managed by individual users, including photoblogs. Sharing means that other users can view but not necessarily download the photos, users being able to select different copyright options.

You share your photos with others by giving them access to your displays. Those others might be your immediate family, fellow users of the website, or the whole world.

Whether for business or personal reasons most of the individuals at one time or another will want or have a need to upload and share photographs with family and friends something very easy and fun.
