directory submission is very essential for any site, because your site posts cant rank up until your site add in search engine, and site results appear in search engine only when you enter sitemap in google webmaster tooland bing webmaster tool

free directories take months to get submitted at and from SEO point of view they are a kind of useless, so experts don't recommend to use them
