Site appearing in search engines - Has it been indexed?

This might be a stupid question, but do need to know for sure.
I've been typing the name of my site in many search engines, just to see what would come up. And my site does come up in several of them. My question is would that mean that my site has been indexed already?

 If your site is one of the results, then yes, your site has been indexed.

into the search engines... you will see then. Or just look at your log file for spider visits.

 Well a search engine spider can be referred to as 'bot' but there also spam bots and malicious programs.
