How can i increase the backlink of a website in Google

Hello everybody,

How can i increase the backlink of a website in Google. I do around 40-40 bookmarking and directory respectively and 10 articles on weekly basis but when i check using link:www.example.com its show same backlink even after month. Please suggest.

 Google never shows all the links that they are giving you credit for. rather than worrying about checking how many links you have, focus on your rankings for your keywords, and how many visitors those links are bringing to your site.

 Google under-reports the number of links they know about to keep spammers from getting information. You could use Wordpress plugins like Awstats or Statpress to see traffic details of your site.

 I think it would take time for the backlinks to reflect and I wouldn't worry about it for now. As James suggested, it is best to work continuously on building traffic and how much traffic you are getting.

 Hi, if you want to track your backlinks the other option is to use something like opensiteexplorer by SEOMoz. They track and index sites independently and are usually more accurate in their data.

 You can increase your backlink by doing submission in directories, forums, articles and also u can do social media optimization. SMO will also increase your traffic.
