Here are some ways you can take to repair your PST files:
1. Use the Inbox Repair Tool (Scanpst.exe)
You can find this tool in the Outlook installation folder. Here’s where to look:
• For Outlook 2016/2019/365: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\
• For Outlook 2013: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15\
• Once you’ve located Scanpst.exe, open it and find your PST file (usually located in Documents\Outlook Files).
• Click "Start" to scan the file. You’ll see any problems listed after the scan.
• Click "Repair" to fix those issues. Just make sure to back up your PST file first.
Note: Scanpst.exe works well for minor issues but it can only handle files up to 2GB. If your file is larger or more damaged, you need to try a third-party PST repair tool, which is better for tough problems.
2. Use Third-Party Tools
For a more reliable solution, you can use a third-party
PST repair tool. This is an MVP recommended tool and it is specially designed for handling larger and severely corrupted PST files.
