How much should you spend for each subscriber?

When you're just getting started with google adwords you don't know how much each subscriber is worth to you, so you don't know how much you should spend on getting traffic. So how much should you be willing to spend for each subscriber?

Thanks for the email. The budget will depend entirely on the keywords you've selected and how much competition there is for these keywords. I think by referring you this article, it will help you learn how to do proper Adwords budgeting :)

 Is $3.00 to much to pay for a subscriber? A couple of my ads are costing me more than $5.00 per subscriber - that's surely too much isn't it?

 Hi Kurt,

The average cost for Adwords is $1-$2 USD/click. I suggest you stick around this budget first and try to place the rest of the budget somewhere else like on Google Display Network or perhaps on Bing ads. Or you may also try to invest on social media paid ads. I am suggesting this so you can incorporate not just one but more (mixed) marketing platforms to see and weight which platform works well for you.

 Actually it is the google display network that I was talking about. Are you sure you didn't mean $1-$2/subscriber, because $1-$2/click seems really high? Most of my clicks don't even convert into subscribers.

 Hi Kurt,

Yes I meant $1-$2 per click as I was referring to the clicks you invest on Google Adwords. If you want to know the average price you pay for a subscriber, I am not sure what formula you've used to get this data but with $3-$5 range, this is a bit high. But again, if you are getting quality subscribers, then I would not argue more about the price.

 I guess I won't bother trying the search network then if it cost $1-$2 per click. On the display network I'm spending about $0.30 per click and most of them don't convert into subscribers. Maybe I should try topics or one of the other books and landing page.

The $1-$2 per click is the average cost for PPC in Google Adwords. That amount can be lower or higher, depending on the keywords you'll pick.

There are other cheaper options for PPC such as FB ads. But between the two, I always find Google ads to be more appropriate and high-converting in affiliate marketing. However, of course, this is also a case-to-case basis since there are niches can really do well in social media marketing.

 There are two ways of looking at the problem. If your subscriber list is meant for a niche then thank the subscriber after he makes a purchase or a signup. If you are building a general list then you will have to spend more time with your subscriber, say on a weekly basis. I hope the suggestion helps.

As much as money to spend is concerned, you may have to spend up to $4 for each subscriber. Sometimes you may go lucky!

 You do not understand every contributor is worth to you, so you don't understand just how much you must spend on getting visitors If you are only getting started using adwords. How much should you be prepared to spend for every subscriber?

 Hi,

The last time I actually took the time to calculate it, I think I was at around 1.25 per subscriber. Obviously how you build your list will play a big part as to how profitable it will be.
