Alternatives for Adwords

I have just been reading through posts where it is stated that it is hard to get adwords ads approved and that adwords accounts have been suspended, etc., and I it started me thinking about alternatives to Adwords. So I did a search for other advertising networks and came up with the following:

Clicksor
Adbrite
Kontera
Bidvertiser
Chitika

DISCLAIMER: I have never tried advertising through the above. Caveat emptor.

The fastest way of having an Adsense application approved is to create a blog through Blogger or use your existing Youtube channel. Here's how to do it: Signing up for AdSense through Blogger or YouTube (according to a Google employee).

Thanks, Mike. But this isn't about displaying ads on your own website. It's about having your ads displayed on others' websites, much like how your ads would be displayed on others' sites when you sign up for an adwords account and do a ppc campaign.

For everyone, in case you are looking from the other end of the tunnel, if you sign up for any of the services I listed above, you would be the advertiser and not the publisher if you want to have your ads displayed on others' websites.

Thanks Faradina for the great information. It's nice to have an alternative to AdWords so that we're not held hostage by them. It's nice to have an alternative. I will certainly look into them.

My adwords account was banned as well about 6 months ago. Then I got an email from Google 3 months ago selling the benefits of Google adwords!

As far as I know I still cannot use the account but what I', wondering0- TTravis and Market Samurai both ask for your adwords account details. Will these no longer work when those applications go out looking for keywords etc?

@covenantguy: I'm very sorry to hear that you were banned from Adwords :(

You may add a different Google Adwords account into Traffic Travis and this must only be used for keyword research. Hence, it's pretty safe to use a different Google Adwords account on Traffic Travis for as long as you do not advertize on it.

I've found a discussion in the Warrior Forum that discusses this:

Hope that helps. :)

Hey Faradina,

Turned my back on adwords a Loooong time ago but a network i recently found and am testing right now is adknowledge - just do a google search on them.

They're much more "affiliate friendly" then the big G and it's a network used by a lot of cpa marketers for obvious reasons ;-)

Will post back a casestudy if i get the time.

Cheers,
Jay

You cannot use affiliate link in Adwords destination URL . I tried and got banned. But Facebook allow you to use affiliate links. Facebook PPC is cheap and highly targeted as it gives you more options to show your ads only to those who are interested in you niche and in your target location

I am learning a lot from Affiloblueprint but I am puzzled as to why there is so much information in the course about using Adwords. I know for a fact that Google is very strict that NO affiliate links can be on a site that advertises with Adwords.

So why is it taught in a course on Affiliate marketing? Am I missing something?

I am glad to see some of the alternative suggestion here.

Hi peewee,

Yes, you cannot use affiliate links as destination URL in Google AdWords. But you can use your own webpage. We show members how to promote their products through various methods, both free and paid. You can promote your site using PPC. Once you get the user to your site, you can then refer the users to the vendor sales page.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

If you want cheap traffic. Dont be afraid of Pay Per View (PPV)

With pay per view you you can display a banner and not just a few words of text.

Here is an example. (Mods might delete link as it is a MMOL offer)

http://killyourdayjob.com/ppven1.html

I found that I get killer clickthrough rates with a screen capture of a video that links to a lander.

Any way lead impact is easy to get into, there is not much that they don't allow as far as quality scores.

You bid to have your banner pop-over specific URLS. People who have agreed to see these ads in exchange for some sort of freebee.

Oh, and you can start with lead impact for as little as $50 bucks if I remember correctly.

The main / largest competitor to Google Adwords is Bing Ads also known as Yahoo. I am surprised it has not been mentioned. Linkedin and Facebook PPC advertising are also becoming popular.

I have tried Adbrite before with mixed results. Unfortunately in terms of sheer numbers there is nothing that can quite compete with Adwords.
