Affilorama Announces Renewal of Cakefest Sponsorship
For release: 15th April 2009
Christchurch, New Zealand - While many companies are might elect not to renew sponsorships in an effort to cut marketing budgets, New Zealand web business Affilorama.com has renewed their sponsorship of the 2009 Cakefest Conference in Berlin. “While the publicity we receive from sponsorships is of course a bonus,” says Simon Slade, Affilorama CEO, “our primary motivation in supporting Cakefest is too invest back into those in the development community who have indirectly helped us build our business.”
Built almost entirely on open source frameworks with open source software, Affilorama, an educational site for budding affiliate marketers has grown by leaps and bounds since its formation in mid 2006. “In a very real way, the open-source philosophy of development and open sharing of information aligns heavily with Affilorama's business model and mission,” continues Slade, referring to the majority of Affilorama's content which is available for free.
In addition to sponsoring Cakefest, Affilorama also sent one of their core developers to the December 2008 conference. “It was a really great experience for him and it helped him learn new ways to utilize this technology which ultimately comes back to benefit our business.”
Cakefest will be held at the GLS Hotel Berlin from July 9th through July 12th. Details can be found at Cakefest.org.
