I recently got some duplicate content from one of my blogs. In short someone stole my content. I communicated to them and they pulled it down immediately. Here is how to detect:
1. Use Copyscape: Enter your urls and it will inform you if there is any copied content from your website.
2. Use Google Alert: Enter the title or an exact sentence from your content in Google Alert. Make sure you put the sentence in quotes for exact match.
3. Check your trackbacks if you use Akismet.
4. Go to Google's Webmaster Tools and check out links to your content.
All the best and let's keep penguin out of our sites.
