What Is The Best Name For My Site's Blog?

Hey all,

Hi guys. Have a question for you all. We own an outdoors webstore through yahoo, and we want to start a blog related to that sight through WP. Our store domain is www.myhuntingandfishingshop.com

Would it be wise to name the blog www.myhuntingandfishingshopblog.com or maybe www.myhuntingandfishingshop-blog.com

Or should the domain be something completely different?

Thanks for the advise!

Put it on the same domain like this: myhuntingandfishingshop.com/blog

It will benefit the domain to have fresh content added, as well as any onsite activates like time on site, bounce rate, social activity, etc., also it's a lot easier to direct visitors to the main site from the blog because you're not sending them to a totally different domain, and you can make your brand stronger too by keeping everything together.

Thanks Andrew...that makes good sense. How do you go about getting a "/blog" on the same domain, and can we use wordpress for the blog platform because yahoo does not have a blog platform.

Thanks,

Jason

Hi Jason,

The "/blog" is a sub-directory of the main site. This is set up in the backend, usually your site's control panel and you can also use Wordpress for this portion of your site.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!
