Using Blogger to make money

Hello! This is my very first post so I hope that the people here are willing to help me. I'm a 17year old trying to do affiliate marketing. Do you think its possible for me to succeed? Haha. Anyway, I've just started to use blogger as my own website for affiliate marketing.I don't really know where to start and what to do. Can you guys give me suggestions on how to improve my website and how to get people to read my blog. Any tips given will be very much appreciated. And I would like to thank Mark Ling (Affilorama) for introducing me a way to this affiliate marketing.

Here is my blog>>> "http://www.mrgreenergy.blogspot.com"

Hi Welcome to Affilorama.
What you are asking can not be covered in one post like this.
You will need to read heaps, learn and take action on what you learn.
Personally I think Blog sites are not to be used as a main website for your marketing affiliate products.
You use a blog to drive traffic to your main websites or money pages, that's only my opinion though.
However, you can make a blog as your main website if you wish, it's all about testing and what is right for you.
Some people do have a blog as their only means of making money, but I would recommend having that only as PART of your money making strategy.

Your blog needs a lot more content on it. you need to research your keywords and the niche itself.

I would suggest if you have the money to look at Mark's Affiloblueprint.
This will guide you through building an affiliate site.
I would also read this forum and the warrior forum to learn as much as you can.
Keep in mind at the warrior forum, you will be bombarded by program after program and can easily get distracted.
But the information is good.

Your question is not a simple one to answer. It is like asking someone "How do I write a book" or "How do I fly an airplane" you just need to do the hard yards and learn from experience.

One thing you do have on your side is you are young and probably able to operate a computer with some ease, unlike the senior people who just got their first PC and want to learn affiliate marketing but have no computer skills.

If I could go back to when I was 17 and start affiliate marketing, I would be a multi millionaire and then some..lol
But we all have our own life journey to take I suppose and it is for a reason.
Use this time to learn and implement what you learn. It may be an easy ride or you could make a lot of mistakes along the way.. but just do it.

Kind Regards
Troy

Thanks for the reply! Yes I know that one post does not cover all of it. :) So basically I need to have a main website to start affiliate marketing? I want to try to experiment affiliate marketing through blogging. Have anybody tried that before? What are the pros and cons when using blogger as the main website. And what are the differences between a blogger and a main website?(also the pros and cons)

Another thing is what is the warrior forum? Hahaha... Sorry for all these newbie questions. Well, I'm just so new to it and am eager to try affiliate marketing. And I know affiliate marketing takes a lot of time to master it.

Anyway, I really like the fast response from you Troy. :D Thank you!

Hi,
There is nothing wrong with blogging as a way to make money... you may just want to make it a PART of your overall strategy.
Here is some posts here on the forum for you to read...

As for the warrior forum you can just go to warriorforum.com and start reading to learn.
You could spend weeks there just reading and getting confused so just read the posts for new guys etc...

Some Affilorama members currently have blog sites but I'm not sure if they do affiliate marketing through their sites. Please check their posts on the threads below and send them a private message if you want to ask for more information on their sites:

affiliate-hangout/starting-with-zero-budget-t5236.html?hilit=blogging
market-research/dating-niche-t4605.html?hilit=blogging
affiliate-hangout/i-quit-i-quit-my-offline-job-t4969.html?hilit=blogging
forum-news/new-member-introduction-again-t2562.html?hilit=blogging

Affiloblueprint members don't usually get into blogging to keep their site from being distracted from its main purpose. What they do is work on getting their site to earn money first and then increase traffic to their site through blogging.

You can run a blog on blogger. the basics are the same build good pages and link to it. The problem is if Blogger decides to change their rules you could be out of business over nite. This is why you want to get a domain and host your own blog.
Blogging works great, you just have to approach it differently. I recommend reading about pro blogging if you want to go that route. I recommend
http://www.problogger.net for a lot of great blogging tips.

You can learn a lot of the basics here. they are the same as on a blog. the main difference is in how you write a blog vs a static web site. a blog is much more personal and open to personal opinions than writing articles on a static website.

Copyblogger is also a good site to learn about blogging.
One other thing you should consider if you choose blogging over a static website is that you need to have time to update it regularly.
