Hostgator linking of C-Class sites & shared hosting problems
I've been following the topic regarding the pitfalls of shared hosting. Unfortunately, I will need to stick with this a little longer until I can afford a dedicated server.
I am just wondering whether I may have shot myself in the foot rather (Google-wise), by hosting my new Article Directory site on the same Hostgator domain as my Work-from-home blog. I have a link from the blog to the site and in due course may place articles presently on the blog (with modification) also on the article site. Therein may lie the problem and I'd appreciate folks' thoughts on that.
Many Hostgator Customers are contacting Host Gator seeking multiple C Class capabilities in the belief that Google will penalize those of their sites that have the same C class and are linking to each other. I understand that Hostgator is shortly providing a service to enable customers to optimize their sites for the search engines by allowing them to host on multiple C classes. This will overcome the problem of having to work with multiple hosting providers. Given that the hosting charges for each C class are only going to start at around $5 a month, do you think that is a sound option as an alternative to hosting linking sites elsewhere?
When I have that small matter sorted, naturally I'd be delighted to publish any articles Affilorama members may wish to submit. But more on that another time.
Thoughts please?
Cheers
Dale
