EstablishedWebsiteForSale.co.uk - Is it a scam?

Hi
My brother is looking to get into the website building like myself, I mentioned about him joining Affilorama, but he asked me to look at this website.
I said it sounds iffy, it was just to get someone else's view.

Not really a scam but from the couple things I glanced at you could do it yourself... like they said we partnered up with Amazon so you could make a commossion... well, you don't need them to do that, as anyone can get on Amazon's affiliate program and become a partner.

What these guys are relying on is newbie browsers that don't have a clue. They're not really scamming them just trying to make some money off their lack of knowledge

That looks pretty nasty. I guess the idea is that you buy a ready-made affiliate site and then all you have to do is promote it, but those sites look like they're just glorified web templates with affiliate links shoved in. If you want to do well in the search engines you need a lot more content than that, and it needs to be targeted to your (properly researched) keywords.

I think you'd have a lot of trouble getting any traffic to those sites as they stand, without fleshing them out a whole lot. And it's the fleshing that really takes the time. And while you're fleshing, you're going to be butting up against someone else's template and you're not going to have a clue how it works because you didn't build it! That sort of thing drives me nuts because it takes just as long to figure it out as it takes to build it from scratch.

Lastly (trying not to write another novel here), those sites probably aren't actually "established businesses" because they won't have any Pagerank, no backlinks, no traffic, no earnings... nothing. In web terms that's not established at all.

Tell your bro to come over to the good side and join us here :)

I am pretty sure as well that half the links in that site from adsense or amazon etc will have their own affiliate info in them. So you do the work and they reap the rewards. Well at least have of them anyway....

I would say spend the energy and create your own site so you reap ALL the rewards.
