Does any one know is there videos on how to set up joomla

Hi
Does anyone know if there are videos on how to set up joomla on cpanel hostings.

I have it already set it up but do not know how to put info into the website properly.

I normally use frontpage and find this easy but joomla looks a little more professional.

I need a members site that is safe for one of my sites.

Any info on this would be helpful.

Hi

I will have another look at joomla. I did not see any before but might have missed them.

If at anytime you find some videos on setting joomla up, I will be interested to see them.

Thanks

Affily,

If the one I gave you above doesn't suit your needs, a guy I've worked with on a project just came out a Joomla video training course that I'm an affiliate of. He has 19 videos will give you a complete education, fast. If video instruction is what you're looking for, you can get it here for only 35 bucks.

Hope that helps,

Excellent.

I am wondering if it is better to build a site with xsitepro, wordpress blogs... or with Joomla.

Can you point the advantages and disadvantages as well in your videos or just a quick note?

superaff, I've never used joomla, but it all depends on what you're trying to do.

Setting up a blogsite is a lot different to setting up a membership site or something. Whether one is better than another depends on a few things.

When you watch the videos in this month's update you'll see the difference between a dynamic site made with Wordpress/Joomla and a static site made with XSitePro. Basically, WordPress and Joomla are content management tools, whereas XSitePro is simply a web design program.

This month I've interviewed a few experts... One has created a content management system around WordPress and the other around Joomla. So I'd recommend watching the videos, taking a peek at their products, and deciding which one suits your purposes better.

In either case there will be a learning curve. Word of warning :)

Regards,
Mark

I can't wait for these videos. I am currently using wordpress, and I like it so far.

I want to see what Joomla can do for me.

Your updates are awesome Mark. Just what I was looking for. I noticed two new products on clickbank as well.

Thank you for your reponse with joomla videos. I am extremely thrill about this.

I have numerous wordpress blogs that I set behind sites and have RRS To Blog sending news automatically to.

I use this mainly to get search engines to crawl the sites which gets the new domain into the search engines quicker. It is amazing how many times the major search engines crawl your site with wordpress blogs that have on going news to that blog. It really does not get very much traffic from this to you site but it get the search engines to now your site is alive.

Wordpress blogs are brilliant but for member sites joomla seems to be my answer. It just look really involved and I need some expert tips for this, so I look forward to looking at the videos.

Thanks Mark

Hi Affilly,
I am very new here, so not sure how indepth you have gone with Joomal. Thought I would just add my 2 cents worth!
I am a web developer, and create all my clients' sites with Joomla. I have about 20 odd sites I have done.
Joomla is great and very flexible for what I do.

If you want, I can write up a post about what Components I recommend using with Joomla. i.e. SEO component (to change your site URLs from the standard joomla ones like - http://www.yoursite.com/index.php?optio ... &Itemid=47
to something a bit nicer such as - http://www.yoursite.com/gallery.html

To give you some idea. I joined Affilorama 2 days ago. With Joomla, and the information I have received from Affilorama, I have setup site templates and entered in most the content and created two websites (one affiliate and one information site). Not bad for two days work!

Joomla takes a lot of hassle out of putting together a website - for me anyway.

Let me know if you want some more info.

Cheers
Chirag
