Critique Wanted

G'day ,

I believe this is the right place to request a critique of one of my sites located at http://www.diabetes-facts.com

This was built with XSitePro and at the moment it is rewarding me with "petty cash" from Adsense.I registered the domain in 2006 and the site has been up since then.

Apart from the general critique I would welcome any suggestions regarding further "monetization" of the site particularly about promoting relative affiliate products - I am a member at CJ, ShareaSale, Linkshare , Clickbank , Market Health.

 Hi Norman, site looks OK to me (but what do i know), obviously you could find more related affiliate products.
Maybe add some rss stuff to get fresh info on a regular basis (health news), to promote use social network sites etc... . Lots of SEO work.

 Hi Norman,

I am a Brand New Member. : )

I am a real Newbie...I still don't have my own website...although I need to make one. Fear is holding me back so far.

I looked at your websiste. It is nice.

I have a few suggestions (keep in mind who this is coming from : )

- Have you considered placing an Opt-in form - "above the fold"?

- Do you have anything you can "Give Away"? Build your list from the give aways...

- I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do on your site?? Need some kind of Action Direction (like the Opt-in for a free give away or something)

- I liked that you had links to Articles (I'm an Information "Junkie" - I'm always copy & pasting articles. They might come in handy some day!! : )

Anyway, just a few thoughts. Hope it helps. : )

Now if I can get a Webpage up for myself!!!!! : )

Thank you for taking the time to comment - it is what I am looking for as when you "create" the site yourself I find it is sometimes difficult to see it with an open mind.

 hi Norman, looks like a decent site for starters. I'd definitely want to test some clickbank products on there. I'm sure there are a few good ones. Have you done much in the way of SEO? Would you consider doing PPC?

As a minimum, I'd at least get a few review pages up for diabetes products and if you have a little cash to play with, try bidding on product names.

 G'Day Norman!

I just spent a short time on your website and it looks more like a Google Ad site than an information site. I found all of the ads distracting from the true message of the site.

May I suggest you get one or two high quality diabetic related affiliate products that solve a specific challenge us diabetics encounter on a daily basis, complete reviews on them with reviews of a few select competitors who are not as good a value.

In addition, may I suggestion you seriously work on SEO application by developing more keywords, keyword phrases, and long tail keyword phrases specifically attached to your affiliate products. You have no SEO optimization in your initial description content, only 7 internal links with no external link backs at all. This can be accomplished in many ways and I refer you to the training here on Affilorama for your answers.

That's it for an initial look and the things I happen to notice. I hope this is of benefit to you and I would hope more qualified and experienced members would supplement these initial evaluations.

Leeann : Yes I live in South Australia. My wife and I have lived in many parts of the world including New YorK City, my sister-in-law and her husband had a business there.

Craig : Sincere thanks for your "critique" . You made me realise it does in fact look a little like a "MFA" site , which is the very thing I didn't want! Will try to improve it in the areas you mention. I was diagnosed with Type 2 23 years ago and managing to control it reasonably well with a combination of tablets and exercise.

Sean : Good to see a fellow Aussie doing well. Thank you for your advice which I sincerely appreciate. Had a look at your 6DW site and would be more than happy to invest in the "Codex". Also noticed your offer to Affilorama members and as I am a "Premium" lifetime member I would like to take you up on the "free stategy session" on the telephone. As we are both in Oz I could ring you when mutually convenient.
One quick question -- would it be better for me to get the "Codex" before the phone call or wait until after?

 Hi Norman,

I might suggest a picture in your posts and break the text with headers in between paragraphs, highlighting certain Diabetic facts. Your On Page SEO Could have a header "Facts About Diabetes..". And then maybe personalize by relating a story about someone you know that has tried different products and maybe put a link to the aff product...to break up the text a bit and give something for someone to go look at. Give a call to action.
