Changing or adding to a website - How do I do it?

I am about to put a simple 1 page website out on to the web, I have used Dreamweaver to create it but I don't know how to add to, edit or alter the website once it is out there, is this simple to do? can anyone help.

 You can still continue to edit your own local version on your own machine and then upload over top of what you have on the site.

does this make sense?

I presume that I just upload changes the same way I uploaded the original web page
