I got ugly Google mark "Landing Page quality: Poor"

Hi,
I got the ugly Google mark "Landing Page quality: Poor" - on all my ads (they are not showing now).
I spend 6 months to create and inmprove my site...
I read the blog and it looks like the reason could be because I link most of the ads to my home page but not sure...
please have a look and let me know what is wrong with my home page?
What are should be my next steps?
Do I need to change the domain and resubmit etc...
Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks,
Stan

Hey Stan

I got the dreaded 'final warning' email for a site that I was frantically trying to improve, so I emailed Google to let them know that I was improving the site, find out what more I needed to do and beg for more time.

Their response was really really quick, really thorough and very honest.

In my case there was nothing technically wrong with my site, but the product that I was promoting was on their list of products that were on the 'dubious' list - much like the reasoning behind Squidoo shutting down many of their lenses - upshot being that while I was promoting it there was no way that I would get a good quality score.

Rather than trying to 'guess' what is wrong why don't you contact Google and get them to tell you directly what is wrong - it is going to save you a massive amount of time and energy - and even may stop your account getting suspended.

I am not very sure if Google guys are going to help, most of the time they just refer to guidelines which are more vague then their reply. Anyhow, I think to provide answer to your question, you will have to provide us with keywords, your ad text, destination url's etc. Not sure if all that info can be publicly given. I suggest you to pick up somebody who is good at PPC and ask him for help, also do check out what your competitor's pages like.

Hi
Google answer to " Could you be more specific to my errors?"

Hello Herman,

You have received a poor landing page quality score for "Unacceptable
Business Practices." We have found certain categories of websites to be of
poor quality due to multiple complaints from users and publishers about
inaccurate or misleading claims regarding the product being promoted.

Please note that the decisions we make concerning advertising in no way
affect the search results we deliver. Google strongly believes in freedom
of expression and therefore offers broad access to content across the web
without censoring search results. At the same time, we reserve the right
to exercise editorial discretion when it comes to the advertising we
accept on our site, as noted in our program Terms and Conditions. Visit
https://adwords.google.com/select/contentpolicy.html for more information
on our advertising Content Policy.

Also, paused ads will still be reviewed based on our guidelines. Pausing
or deleting ads related to the disabled sites will not automatically
re-enable the ads. Please do not submit any more sites that do not comply
with our site quality guidelines.

You can review our Advertising Policies, including our Landing Page and
Site Quality Guidelines, by visiting:

Has anyone solve this challange ?

Thanks

basically, if you have affiliate products on your site, google dont want you.

go to yahoo or bing. there are hundreds of other ppc networks to try.

I've just made a review style page like on Mark's blackbook site that I was going to try on adwords, and then reading around came across this. It seems google are changing their policies?

James, do you think it's as blunt as that? That it's probably best not to even bother trying PPC with them for AB2 style sites now?

honestly, Ihave been seeing affiliates with high quality sites, full of information and quality content getting banned left and right. Not sure what Mark's experience has been with it, but almost all of the affiliates I know are getting off of adwords and going to other networks.

they dont want abritrary product review sites(affiliate review pages), they dont want data collection sites, (squeeze pages are out.) etc...

The policy states low quality affiliate sites, but if you have an add for an affilaite product it is automatically deemed low quality. there is no second chance. I have seen some of the emails that they have returned to people who asked. they basically say, you are promoting affiliate products, and therefore your site will never meet our quality guidelines.

says nothing about quality of the site, or the specific products promoted. if you are promoting affiliate products, or trying to build your list, adwords does not want you.
