New to affiliate marketing !

Dear All

I'm quite new to affiliate marketing and have just joined to Affilorama for a few days ago throught my best friend's introduction, I'm abit nervous to ask you questions while I'm new one here and I haven't got any good ideas to offer to our forum, but however I need your helps and need to try, If I bother you all, I'm sorry and hope you ingnore what I've asked, my problem is I've just made a website that sell affiliate product through clickbank, before that I've read some books about Marketing to get readers to website, but when doing I'm a bit confused because there are so many ways to market as: comment on blog, social media network, join facebook, join forum...can you please give me any advices to that, which one is the best should I do first, second...and how long each task should I do ? thanks you all

Welcome to Affilorama! :)

There are various off-page SEO methods to promote your site. I suggest you list down the methods and then come up with a schedule, devoting a few hours each day to one particular method and take note of how much you have accomplished each day. You may refer to our SEO and Marketing lessons.

Welcome to Affilorama. Please do not be shy or get nervous asking questions. Everyone here started as a newbie and we like you to know that Affilorama community is open to helping each other :)

As for off-page SEO, I suggest you make your own SEO plan before even starting your link building. You have to know that when it comes to building links- you do not need to weigh which link building tactic is more effective than the other.

Instead, focus on making a list of quality link building tactics such as blog commenting, bookmarking, content submission, forum posting, and so on.

Try to start with easy to get backlinks like bookmarking, blog commenting and forum submission. Then from time to time allot a day or number of hours to do content and content submission.

You should also try to mix your backlinking efforts with social media marketing to get direct traffic from facebook, twitter, pinterest, and so on.

Also, do not spam. Just try to provide readers a good and useful content to read on. This is how you get good traffic that converts and at the same time also get loyal subscribers.

 You can successfully manage your affiliate marketing through the establishment of the value and desirability of your product. Another approach is to use endorsements and testimonials from relevant or respected individuals. You may also use marketing banners for more efficiency.

 Thanks Iandille101, may be I should try blog comment first, Do you have any experience of blog comments, could you please give me some advices of finding the high rank or trusted blogs? How can I find on Google search ? my friends advise me to use software like G-lock blog finder but I think I should do manual, do you have any ideas of it ? thanks

You could try Google Blog Search: http://www.google.com/blogsearch

Find a Blog, see if it allows comments, see if they have the evil 'no-follow', see if it has good traffic, good authority, etc, then read the post and contribute a good comment, revisit that blog/site when they publish something new.

 For starters one thing that nobody should do is find an affiliate marketing guide or training program and buy it. Yes don't buy it, until you know what that program is going to do for you.

 This can be tough and confusing animal they call internet marketing.

It depends mostly on the strategy you want to use in terms of traffic. in the long run affiliate marketing is about traffic - i guess it is the worst nightmare of any IMer.

Some people start of with a hefty budget and just rely on paid traffic methods, CPC, Banner advertising, CPM, etc. I am confusing you with these terms, aren't I? :) But thatt's the way, look them up and you learn.

However i guess you fall on the second category where you want organic traffic using SEO. I guess that's why you mention things like comment blog, guest posting, etc. This route has its frustrations also.

My advice - stick to one blog and do all the promotion methods they thorw at you. Alos have a lot of patience because SEO is a waiting game. Sometimes it takes 3 to 6 months to see a sprinkle of results. So be aware of that.

To avoid this being too long, I'd say develop a strong sese of internal SEO (this way half the battle of SEo is done).

Adopt some automation methods. i have a strategy of using wordpress with some content syndication plugins and this way I can build initial backlinks quickly with less effort. All i have to do is publish a post with strong internal seo attributes like internal links. When the content gets automatically syndicated those internal links turn into external links. Don't be worried about duplicate content as some people might suggest...

Anyway the strategy is here http://fiverr.com/seekhelp (I wrote that PDF) I also offer a template fully configured with those plugins. Disclaimer - i hope I won't get in trouble here because i am pitching my own product. If is not allowed i will remove it and my apologies to admin...

 Thanks for those tips and the link!. In a way, I agree that "..affiliate marketing is about traffic". But isn't it not only about traffic, but also about traffic that is most likely to convert to sales - that is, about ROI (Return On Investment)?

After all, a thousand unique visitors a day doesn't do anything for you if none take the action you want, such as signing up for a newsletter, buying something, or visiting your affiliated vendor.

So, you also need methods to attract the traffic with the highest buyer intent, greatest motivation, etc. and even methods that filter out non-buyers, if your marketing costs you anything. And if "time is money", even "free" marketing costs you. Careful and thorough niche market research can give you the perspective into the mind of your niche market prospects that you need, in order to write content and discover and analyze keywords that resonate with their thinking to increase your ROI.
