I agree, article rewrites are usually cheaper, so using PLR articles and rewriting them would be cheaper than buying unique articles. Using software can be even cheaper but the quality will be based on your ability to use it and your ability to edit the articles the software makes, plus you pay with your time spent using the software.
About links, one way to get a good link is to find a relevant site and offer to write a 'guest post' for them, be specific on what you plan on posting and make it super high quality. When they post it, you get a backlink and also some authority, be sure to answer any comments to your post to build even more of a relationship, and in the end this can bring about many rewards, especially so when you're building a
brand not just a website.
