How Important Is Having A Newsletter?

I'm asking because I don't like the idea of using my personal residence address at the bottom of every newsletter I send out. Is there a way around this?

Many thanks,
Alain

Hi Alain,

Having your own newsletter section means building your own list, which over time, turns out to be one of the most effective ways to get sales.

Building your own list through newsletter has the following benefits:

1. Cost-effective way in terms of communicating with your customers
2. Builds trust and support with customers over time
3. Builds company's reputation
4. Has a high response rate since the newsletters are sent to more receptive/interested market

If you do not like using your physical address in your newsletters, you can use a PO Box address instead. :)

You don't have to have newsletter series, but having one does have its perks as Mary mentioned in her post. The most important of all the added value in having a newsletter series is the ability to promote any product in your niche to your list. The conversion is higher in a newsletter since you're promoting to a group of people who are already interested in the topic.

Once you get a sizable list, you have the option of further monetizing that by taking in solo ads.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

I think you should have an option to disable the visibility of your address. Just contact the tech support. That's how I disabled my address on there. I use GetResponse for newsletters, and collecting leads.

It does not have to be a residential address but a physical address is necessary on every newsletter. This is a CAN-SPAM requirement so I don't think there is a way to disable this. You can use a PO Box address though:

I am a little on the fence about newsletters, when I started everyone kept telling me I needed a newsletter series so I put one together and I think it was a good one. sent it out for a while over 6 months and made nothing. Then after talking to most of the people who kept telling me I needed one they were making nothing from there news letter as well. Now I was sending my news letter out to people who claimed the really wanted to read what I was writing about and of course maybe once every 4 or 5 newsletters I would try and promote something that went hand in hand with the news letter article and I shouldn't say I didn't make any sales but it sure wasn't worth all the time I spent on the newsletter. I guess it all depends on the market.

The success of a newsletter can sometimes depend on the market too. There are niches that don't do so well with a newsletter series. We do recommend having one because it has the potential to bring in a lot of sales. But before getting started on one, consider the niche you're in. Evergreen niches like weight loss, self-help and muscle building do well with a newsletter series. Any popular niche that requires a follow up, or is a major personal crisis like curing anxiety will do well too.

Imagine if a registered customer left your website without making any purchase.
He/she might not follow you on facebook or twitter.
Just reconnect with them by sending offers, discounts or projects or services thru newsltters.

And the updates information integration is another merit of newsletter. I think it is useful if done effectively.
