Which is better: PPC or a membership site

Hi,
Greetings. I am a starter, so I will always need some guidance. I intend to setup an Educational Blog with helpful Educational Content to be developed by myself. This content will be intended to help College and University Students in their assignments, and basically to gain knowledge in specific academic areas.

I intend to post numerous Educational Articles. I will make them available to the readership, then after three paragraphs I lock them, so that to continue reading beyond that point, the readership should pay something, could even be $1. My concern is that people are generally used to reading all kinds of materials on the internet for free.

From your vast experience, will this work? Or perhaps I should take the membership route, where people pay for membership and then have access to all my Educational Content. This is a snag for me. As a newbie, I am aware that the first and most important thing is to develop interesting original content, then the rest may follow.

I believe that your way might be suitable as well.
However, I would go with free content at start and when I see reasonable base of readers, I would start introducing premium content for paid members at low price and then increasing it with time of user base grows.

If you are offering paid content, you should also provide a lot of bonuses that your readers will surely use. This will give you an edge, giving your readers a lot of reasons why they should purchase from you.

It depends on a lot of factors like if the cost of the product is very competitive than most competitors, if the product offers a lot of bonuses that members can use, and if the product is good enough to avoid refunds.

The first question prospective members are going to ask is"What do I get in return."You have to give them a reason for wanting to subscribe to your membership site.

Assuming a new site. SEO is the cheapest way long-term way online to capture customers. PPC enhances that process and certainly when starting is important on many fronts. You can test customers UX - and drive traffic quickly to the site. SEO takes time, and effort and long-term are cheaper and more effective.

I would run strategies for both, and make sure you work hard on both. Hope that assists.

I feel your way may be appropriate.
I would go with articles and once I visit base of readers, I'd begin raising it and then introducing premium articles for visitors at reduced cost.

PPC can be more effective if bidding on keywords is done in a perfect manner. You need an expert guidance in order to get keyword bidding right. Membership sites are cost-effective.

Until I don't consider taking membership. But with PPC we could acquire decent Idea of our company involving marketplace. I really don't what benefits we could get out of membership on any website. However, it could be also extremely pricey.
