 Simply being an independent person who refers not sells people towards a certain market and niche and in exchange the business vendor will give the affiliate or the independent person a commission for the sale.

Your only job as an affiliate is to send the traffic to the offer. It's not to pre-sell or anything like that although if you are good at pre-selling you can do very well and a lot of times redirect the traffic to a payment link.

It is a great way, however I wouldn't go as far as to claim it's the best. Many people make tons of money on the internet without doing any affiliate marketing. Having your own products/services I find to have made me much more money at times.
