I am not sure what you want to ask here but the best business strategies in ANY MARKET will depend largely on your research. IT and technology can be helpful but of course, you will need to define what your niche is and who your market is.

 Of course every business is different and you should build your own strategy. There's no any overall strategy for IT companies. You should deeply analyse your market, your clients. There're a lot of analytics tools such as at this list - link removed -

 You will need to elaborate more to get better answers. I see a shift in how people persive strategies (with the enterence of IT), but the main principles are the same. One key thing is to be able to measure your strategy (KPI's) so you can change/adjust and act accordingly.

 Sometimes, especially as an affiliate, it can be useful to go feet first into promoting the newest "best thing" before anyone else does. Watching the market can get you an edge over other people.

But wisdom says don't do that if you only have one site, in case you are plugging a lemon ...
