How to find keywords in forums

About keyword research in ABP step 5 , it says to find out keywords from forums, started from the categories, then dig deeper for what people are talking about, what people's problems are, and the homework is to find out 10 forums for the niche, then do the above process....
I fund it's a very time consuming work, as each forum will have a dozen of categories, and thousands of posts per category, so I may not really find out all I need systematically in such huge amount of data.
Was I doing in the wrong way, or it has to be done like this ? or is there a way can do it more reliable?

Keyword research takes time, especially if you're starting with SEO campaign only. Since your traffic and sales conversion depends on SEO, you really have to do a lot of work researching for your site's keywords. I am afraid there is no easy way to do keyword research.

If you are looking for keywords in the forums, try to focus on keywords that are niche-related. It is better if you have a targetted niche/sub-niche as you can easily spot keywords this way.

Hi there! Maryt is right. What I can suggest is to use a keyword finding tool instead to help you on this and concentrate only on certain keywords that will really define the niche you belong into...:)

It's not easy to search keyword in the forums. You have to focus on your niche keywords than defiantly you can found a positive result. Nowadays keywords research is the most difficult thing to perform.
It is better to focus on your niche related forums.

I suggest you need to stick to your niche to find certain keywords from forums. It takes a lot of time and effort, but it is the best way. I suggest doing it manually than using a keyword search tool.

"with at least one of the words" - Type in any word or phrase that you think was used in a post or topic on the forum that you are looking for. The search system will search for all of the words that you use here, but the results you get back may omit one or more words that you have provided in the search box if content is not found for those words. For example, you could type in the quick brown fox in the box provided, and you will receive search results back for any content that contains any of those words. So you could receive a search result back because it has the word fox in it, even if the content does not include any of the other words that you provided in the search.

"with all the words" - In the text area here, type in any words that you are certain was used in the post or topic that you are looking for. The search results you get back will only be for content that includes all of the words you typed into the search box. For example, you could type in the quick brown fox in the box provided, and you will receive search results back for any content that includes all of the words in your search regardless of the order that the words are placed in the posted content.

"with the phrase" - If there is a phrase that you know was used in the topic or post that you are searching for, type it into the box provided here. The search system will look for the words used in the phrase you typed and will return results based on the phrase.

Use google keyword planner to find your keyword focus. Then use google search to search the list of forums, eg forum + keyword + list, best forum of + keywords

There are plenty of good free keyword tools/software. Just to name a few that are worth checking out:

Google Adwords: Keyword Planner,
Google Correlate,
Google Trends,
UberSuggest,
MajesticSEO,
WordTracker,
and much more.
My favorite and the first one I suggest you try out is the KWfinder for free. It is probably the best known and most popular.

Keyword planner tool surely help. But firstly, you make sure that you understand that what your business provides to the customers or which service your provide. How can customers find you or with which words they search for your service? And check your niche websites on which keyword they work. I think that should be helpful to you.
