Do I have too many keywords for my website

I know the more keywords the better but when I finished with my Keywords list I had around 240. Is this too many and if so which ones should I keep and which ones should I hold off on? Or should I use all of them as long as they are all on par with what's considered usable as per the Affilo Blueprint? Thanks!

Hi,

240 is not a big list. :) You can use all of them based on the lessons in Affiloblueprint.

You actually need the list for your articles, especially if you plan to make a content-based website.

Thank you for your help! What is considered to be a good amount of keywords for a list? Is it the more the better or does there come a point when it's too much?

We recommend you narrow it down to about 20. You don't need to throw away that list of 200-something keywords. Just organize it, group those that are closely related, and select the best 20 keywords. You can then create an article for each of these keywords.

There is really no definite number. It all depends on how much you can handle. While Cecille is right when she said to narrow it down to 20, you still need to keep the rest of your keywords on the list, especially if most of the marketing work will be put to SEO. What Cecille meant is to choose the 20 as a start then you can add more once you start marketing your website.

I think that's just ok but maybe you should pick the best keywords to be more effective. :)

The list you have is okay. But it would be better if you can refine this a bit more and focus on keywords that really define your niche... Just my opinion...:)

Hello! I am back again.
I have an idea about website or content keywords.
You should put in mind not the more keywords, the better but the more articles with more related keywords, the better.

Now then I mean, just go only with all of those related keywords and match them with the content.

Again, the more articles with related keywords you will get,the more money you will make ideally.

And If you would like,it's better to go with keywords with fewer monthly searchers( ideally less than 500 monthly searchers in my opinion).
Why? Uh,because this will bring you more visitors in long term.

This is what we call long tail keywords that will help you stand out from the competition and bring you the authority in your brand.

you can even check out giveme33days.com once you have some time a website whose articles are mostly about website traffic.

Yes.That was my proposition.

If you're using a keyword research tool, find specific keywords for your niche that have lower competition, but moderate uses each month. For example, focus on keywords that have at least 1-5k uses/month, and less than 30k to 50k unique results for them in Google.

You can type in a search term in parenthesis in Google and then look at the count of results that return for it. If it's less than around 50k, but has a decent amount of searches/month, then target that.

You can create relevant content for those keywords and make a plan on how you market those articles or blogs or content.
If you are done with your keyword research, focus on your content and marketing strategies.

240 is a great list of keywords. But what are they, fathead or long-tail? Then you have to make a plan of your articles, what to write first, what your keywords you should focus on!

It's not fact, how many keyword you have. In my experience if you have 20-25 relative keyword that's enough for your business. You just focus your main keyword. I think it's better for you. Best wishes for your business.

I appreciate nearestirslaywer oppinion. You just select 20-30 relevant keyword for your targeted business and also focus your main keyword. I hope that could be better for your business.

All the very best for your targeted business.

Your 240 keyword list should be sorted according to their usability. You must first use the most relevant keywords with high density. This means they should be used only by few of your competitors and have high search volume.

Choosing keywords is an essential stage in the SEO process. Select the wrong ones and, regardless of what you do in terms of on-site optimisation and off-site optimisation, you may never see a return on your investment in SEO. As well as choosing good keywords though, you need to choose the right number of them.
You shouldn’t only target 1 keyword, even if you have a very small budget or think that 1 keyword covers everything that you do or sell. This is a mistake because unless it’s a highly searched for keyword, and if it is then the competition to rank well for it will be fierce and getting your site in the top positions for it very difficult, then ranking for that 1 keyword won’t attract enough visitors to your site.

You also shouldn’t target lots and lots of keywords – 30, 50, 100, etc. – as the more keywords you target, the less resources you can assign to working on each of them, and the harder it becomes to rank well for any of them. Whilst you do ultimately want to rank for many keywords, to start off you need to be focused and realistic, especially if you don’t have a big budget for SEO or lots of time available to create content and promote your site.

You should divide it into categories, tags or groups of related keywords. Next, select one major keyword in each group, and the remaining sub keywords will include the primary keyword. good luck!

240 keywords are good but not very big list. These keywords you can use in your article. If all these keywords match to your niche then you can keep all these keywords.
Select some of the best keywords those are low competitive and high searches.
Use these keywords as your main or focus keywords and write top quality content using these keywords one by one.
Thanks.

You can use all of them but in your content focus more on those keywords whose monthly searches is more then 1k , keywords whose monthly searches are less then 1k are difficult to rank.
