Question about clickbank account

I am not sure i did mistake or not but i would like to know something .
I am going to open clickbank account , i got tax id number but just for my name only .( in affiliate account signup with clickbank i didn't see anything to place the tax id number ....but
Now , if opening account with clickbank , can i add my husband name to the payee ?
The new account in our bank we are going to open friday for both of the names however as i said the tax id in only on my name .
I don't want to run against some legal issues , maybe someone will know if this is not going to be a problem .
Thanks Eva

Hi Eva,

If you are opening a joint bank account, which is under both your names, then you can register your name under Clickbank since this is also your bank account, am I right?

If you really want to have your husband's name under the payee, then I suggest you just change everything and put your husband's info on it. Generally, most of these money sites want matching infos. But just to be sure, you may easily email their support/customer service for clarification.

Hi Eva,

I understand you have a question whether to open a Clickbank account using yours and your husband's name to match the new joint bank account you will be opening on Friday.

I feel your main concern is if the checks issued by Clickbank will be accepted by your bank.

Since you will be opening a joint bank account with your husband any check under your name can be deposited in the account. It is not a requirement that the checks you will deposit under the new bank account be named after you and your husband's.

If you decide to open a Clickbank account with yours and your husband's name it should be for your convenience and peace of mind.

I hope this helps.

Thanks but my main concern is that tax id number is only for my name and not my husband's .
I am not sure if i will have to add tax id to be included in the bank account , so i was concerned that maybe my husband could be consider as an employee or partner and here i think is different legal procedure later on .
Thanks Eva

Hi Eva,

The Tax ID is a requirement for U.S. based affiliates earning more than USD$600 a month. The payee name on the account should match the Tax ID:

Note: The taxpayer ID number input to your account must match the payee name on the account. If you are utilizing a business payee name but reporting under an individual social security number, you will need to fax a completed IRS W-9 form to us at 559-210-0502 . Be sure to include a cover sheet that indicates your account nickname.

You can read more at the Clickbank Support page.

Since you and your husband has a joint account where you are both named, then *I suppose* it is ok to use your Tax ID.

I recommend contacting Clickbank support to confirm.

Hope that helps. Have a good weekend!

Hi Eva,

You're welcome! :)

I think it should be ok since you'll be sharing one bank account with both your names on it. So having your name only on the payee field should be ok. Still, nothing wrong with confirming it.

Please let me know how it goes.

Have a good weekend!
